Wealth, Success & Love

Three In A Tree ©2008 Terry Gorley

This is one of my favorite short stories ... I hope you enjoy it too. Open your heart to Love and the Power it has to bring wealth & success into your life

Wealth, Success, and Love
~Author Unknown~

A woman came out of her house and saw 3 old men with long
white beards sitting in her front yard. She did not recognize
them.

She said "I don't think I know you, but you must be hungry.
Please come in and have something to eat." Is the man of the
house home?", they asked.

"No", she said. "He's out." "Then we cannot come in," they
replied.

In the evening when her husband came home, she told him what
had happened. "Go tell them I am home and invite them in!" The
woman went out and invited the men in.

"We do not go into a house together," they replied.

"Why is that?" she wanted to know.

One of the old men explained: "His name is Wealth," he said
pointing to one of his friends, and said pointing to another
one, "He is Success, and I am Love." Then he added, "Now go
in and discuss with your husband which one of us you want in
your home."

The woman went in and told her husband what was said. Her
husband was overjoyed. "How nice!!," he said. "Since that is
the case, let us invite Wealth. Let him come and fill our home
with wealth!"

His wife disagreed. "My dear, why don't we invite Success?"
Their daughter-in-law was listening from the other corner of
the house. She jumped in with her own suggestion: "Would it
not be better to invite Love? Our home will then be filled
with love!"

"Let us heed our daughter-in-law's advice," said the husband
to his wife. "Go out and invite Love to be our guest."

The woman went out and asked the 3 old men, "Which one of you
is Love? Please come in and be our guest."

Love got up and started walking toward the house. The other 2
also got up and followed him. Surprised, the lady asked Wealth
and Success:

"I only invited Love, Why are you coming in?" The old men
replied together: "If you had invited Wealth or Success, the
other two of us would've stayed out, but since you invited
Love, wherever He goes, we go with him. Wherever there is Love,
there is also Wealth and Success!"

Experiencing Life

Magpie in Flight ©2007 Terry Gorley

Today, I chose this quote to share with you

Cynthia Kersey of the Unstoppable Foundations writes: ". . . you can choose to be like too many others who trudge through life in a state of endurance, missing most of what they experience. Such people observe life but don't experience its pleasure. If life were a symphony, they would hear the notes, but miss the genius behind the composition. If life were a rare gem, they would see the color, but pay no attention to the intricacies of the cut."

Are you missing the experience of Life?

Do you observe without experiencing the pleasures?

Learning To Drive

Snow Laden Trees ©2007 Terry Gorley

This week I took my Grandmother on our monthly outing to do her monthly banking, shoppping, etc. We travel north about three quarters of an hour to the community she lived in for more than fifty years.

The previous day it had snowed more than ten inches. The landscape was pristeen in its purity. As I glanced across a field all laden in white, I commented how much fun it would be to be snowmobiling in that field. We laughed and remembered the fun times we had shared in the past.

As I reflected on those times, I recalled the first time I was allowed to drive a snowmobile. I was probably twelve or thirteen years old. I drove around the open field for awhile then it was time to stop. Not having a whole lot of sense or control, I came inches from hitting a tree.

When I was fifteen, my Dad thought I could use some driving lessons since I would be able to get my driver's license the following year. With good sense he knew I would need time to practise. We climbed in ... he gave me instructions ... I drove the truck ... right through the barbed wire fence. That was the end of my lessons. I didn't get my license until I was thirty-two.

We learn and grow at our own pace. Each failure teaches us a Life Lesson in preparation for the next step on the journey to our Destiny.

About Stillness

Magpie in the Stillness of a Winter Day ©2007 Terry Gorley

I wrote "Sanctuary," January 24, 1997. That I recall it was the first time I had ever experienced what stillness really meant. It was a magical moment of complete self-awareness.
I hope you will take a moment to feel complete stillness. To appreciate a quiet mind ... to be at one with the space around you.
Recently, I caught an episode of Oprah Winfrey. She suggested beginning with 1 minute each day for a month and then adding another minute the following month until you have gone through the 12 months ending up with 12 minutes each day to feel the Stillness in the silence of an empty mind.

Sanctuary

Protection in the darkness
Engulfed by the silence of the black
No light to intrude on the solitude
Blinded by nothingness
Acuteness of feeling
Perceptive
The body and the black as one.
The body alone a lifeless form
But for the breath that says, "I'm alive!"
In the darkness
In the silence
In the solitude
Protected by the darkness
"I'm alive!"

Understanding Yourself

Beaver Lake ©2007 Terry Gorley
Do you understand yourself?
Why you behave and think the way you do?

Have you ever sat in complete stillness and allowed yourself to just feel nothing?
To have a clear mind

Its an amazing exercise that will provide answers to whatever questions regarding your life that you may have. It will give you a path to follow in finding all the answers you need to finding solutions to problems ... to living the Life of your Dreams ... whatever your Dream

One of my favorite healers is Dee Wallace. You may know her as the actress who played the Mom in the movie, "ET The Extraterrestrial." From her I learned "I know that I know." That the consciousness knows everything ... that the answers are always within

Understanding yourself is like sunshine on water ...
the brighter it shines the more it reflects ...
the more it relfects ...
the brighter the sparkle!

Happiness & Butterflies

Butterfly on Mint Blossom ©2008 Terry Gorley
With so many home based businesses available today, here's something to think about when you ask your Friends to join you in your chosen ventures

Remember for different reasons not all of your friends will join you in your business. That's ok!

You treasure your friends and they will be a gift you can cherish for a lifetime

The money you earn from your business will not buy friends or happiness, therefore if you don't want your success to be an empty void, you must fill it with Love & Gratitude, so that you may enjoy your desired wealth and success

Money does not buy happiness ... if you are unhappy being poor, you will be just as unhappy being wealthy

Happiness will only elude you if you feel the need to search for it ... happiness is not elusive. Happiness comes from within
Allow peace & tranquility to fill your soul ... allow quiet moments to embrace your being ... allow happiness to lite upon you as a wayward butterfly as it flits about on a beautiful summer day

What You Need

Soaring Eagle ©2008 Terry Gorley
What you need or want comes to you in the time it is needed the most. When you absolutely know what it is you need or want it WILL come! I know ... there are many instances in my life when this has happened.

When I wrote the poem "Give Me Wings" in 2004, the words took me in a different direction than what was originally planned. The poem has been used since to help inspire others to be the BEST that they can be. To be independent and free to make mistakes ... to learn from those mistakes, so that they can learn, grow and ultimately succeed.

In the fall of 2008, I wanted a photo of an eagle. There are many now in our valley. Over the past few months, it seemed whenever I forgot my camera, I had the privilege of seeing an eagle that would have made a beautiful photograph. On that particular day in October, I made up my mind to find an eagle. I drove down the highway stopping along the way to take pictures of the splendid autumn colors.

Before long, I spotted an eagle perched in a tree, so I quickly pulled over to the side of the road. As I was getting ready to take my shot, another car pulled up. They had spotted the eagle too. I learned they were from England and couldn't believe their luck in spotting the eagle. While we chatted, I missed the opportunity as the eagle soared away.

Ah well, I thought as I continued on my journey to take more autumn photos. As I pulled over to take a shot up the valley, "my" eagle soared above my head. It was like he was dancing and putting on a show just for me. I was in awe of his majestic beauty as I snapped pictures as he performed.

It was a beautiful sunny day ... I had not been disappointed. Indeed the sunshine and the eagle made my day and I went home Grateful for the experience.

We don't always take the time to appreciate moments like these. How many have you experienced? Did you acknowledge getting what you wanted or needed?

Give Me Wings
Give me wings
So I can fly,
For freedom, for independence.
Give me wings
So I can be All that I am,
All that I can be.
Give me wings
So I might fail,
Learn ...
Succeed.
Give me wings
To be myself,
Give me wings.

Success Happens One Day At A Time

Mona's Lilies ©2008 Terry Gorley

Article written by Brian Rooney (Traffic Wave owner)

While we were eating, my wife dropped a tortilla chip on the floor. We were outside next to the river and a rather large pigeon came up to the chip.

It tried to eat the chip but it was too big.

It stepped back, turned its head to the side as if to say "What? How am I going to deal with this big thing?".

It pecked the chip again.

Again nothing happened. The chip didn't break. The pigeon stepped back and turned its head again with that same quizzical look as if to say, "How am I going to eat this thing?".

This went on a little while longer and during one of those times when the pigeon was wondering what was going on, a tiny little bird (I think it was a finch) swooped down and grabbed the chip in its beak... turned and flew to a nearby chair.

The chip was bigger than the bird!

Then the little bird picked the chip up and slammed itdown on the chair. The chip broke into a few smaller pieces, including some little crumbs.

The little bird just hopped around on the chair eating the little crumbs. When it finished those crumbs, it picked up a big piece and slammed it down on the chair.

The pigeon was still standing right where it had started... with no chip... and wondering what had just happened!

Within the space of a few minutes, the little bird had continued slamming big pieces into little pieces... eating the little pieces... then slamming big pieces into little pieces... eating the little pieces until the entire chip was gone.

How many times do we sit and stare at a big "chip"wondering how we are going to eat this thing? Or... wondering how we're going to ever understand all this information?

Some people are like that pigeon. They try to figure out everything within the first few minutes. All they can see is a big chip... a lot of information... and it overwhelms them. They try to just eat the silly thing without every really understanding the pieces.

Success doesn't happen all at once ... it takes time and patience to grow and learn.
Success happens one day step at a time ... one day at a time

Feel Good About Yourself, Your Body & Your Financial Future

I am special because I am me.
I am an individual. There is no other exactly like me.
I am responsible for me; for what I think and do.

I am empowered by these words:

I am young, strong and healthy.
My body has the ability to heal and rejuvenate itself
and it does.

I have the ability, the opportunity and the tools to secure my financial future.
I have the ability, the opportunity and the tools
to work with an awesome team for the success of all.
I can do this and I will!
